Although the tumbler assembly seen pictured appears to have no exterior damage there is a key rotation problem with the trunk lock. This lock set may have other c class production year uses, however I can not confirm or guarantee this.
Own a 1994 Mercedes C280 and have a need to replace locks damaged in a theft it appears a previous owner did exactly this to the ignition lock assembly. The key seen on the right in the first picture inserts, rotates smoothly with a definite feel of the ignition switch engaging and exits the ignition lock assembly just like it should. The original master key inserts and exits the trunk lock tumbler smoothly.
Here's a chance for you to regain some piece of mind by allowing you to replace most of the locks. I see no evidence of key hole door or key hole plate denting on the trunk lock tumbler. The steering column lock pin is fully functional.
These genuine used Mercedes parts, with the exception of the trunk lock tumbler explained further below, are guaranteed to work as described. In other words, I have adjusted the listing price so it does not reflect the value of the trunk lock.
I will explain the condition and key operation for each lock in more detail below. I removed these locks from a well cared for left hand drive 1994 Mercedes C280. This would explain why the key to this ignition assembly will not operate any other lock in this offer.
This key inserts, rotates smoothly and exits these locks just like it should. This lock set has two keys. Vin number information provided in the item specifics section of this listing is for this original master key only.
The key inserts and exits this tumbler assembly smoothly.
This lock set is used so some wear is to be expected.
There is a key rotation issue with the original master key regarding the trunk lock that I will describe in detail below. The original master key seen on the left in the first picture does not work the ignition lock. These locks fit the left hand drive 1994 Mercedes C280. The other key seen on the right in the first picture works the ignition assembly only with a newer ignition switch and trim ring.
This offer includes all the used genuine Mercedes parts you see pictured here. The newer key on the right in the first picture will not work any other lock in this offer.
I have treated this tumbler assembly with wd40 which has improved key rotation to the left, as pictured. This key will not rotate the trunk lock tumbler to the right as pictured. Price reduced.
The chrome trim and surrounding decor on the door locks are free of major scrapes, dents and gouges. Therefore, I can guarantee this lock set will fit the 1994 Mercedes W202 C280 only.
The key hole dust cover doors works great with minimal wear on the key hole opening. The key return springs of both door locks are intact and undamaged.
But the key will not rotate to the right. Both door lock stems are intact and undamaged. Don't miss out. Last chance at this price.
The steering wheel locking feature extends instantly when the key is removed each and every time. It is my opinion, based on close examination, the entire ignition assembly appears to have been replaced along with the ignition switch.
As seen in the last picture, I have drawn a black line on the side of the tumbler assembly. But the key still will not rotate to the right. With this orientation in mind, I can rotate the key to the left as pictured.
I see no evidence of key hole denting on the surrounding key hole plates. The Mercedes donor car suffered a rear end collision and the plastic trunk lock assembly was damaged.
Are you in a situation where an ex has a set of your keys and won't give'em back.
