The key on the right in the first picture will not work any other lock in this listing. There is a crescent shaped scratch on the face plate of this door lock as well.
If left unattended, the base of the door lock assembly breaks off making it impossible to lock unlock the door. See shipping details. These parts are used so some wear is to be expected. Please on any picture to see larger more detailed views of these parts.
By this I mean possible scuffs and nicks here and there. The alarm connectors intact and undamaged. The ignition lock assembly includes a tested and working 7 pin ignition switch. Here's a chance to regain some piece of mind and allow you to change the locks.
The key you see on the left in the first picture is original to the 1993 Mercedes the key on the right in the first picture inserts, rotates smoothly and exits the ignition lock with ease. And are intact and undamaged.
There is very minor denting of the key hole dust cover plate on the door lock that was the driver's door lock.
However, there is still evidence of a bit of old grease dirt grime in areas on the back side of the locks. It is my opinion a previous owner replaced the barrel section of this door lock since it has a much shinier appearance. The key you see on the right in the first picture works the ignition lock only.
This key works all the locks except the ignition lock. There is a small scratch in the lower of the glove box handle plate as seen in the third picture. This means the key will insert, rotate smoothly and exit both door locks, the trunk lock and the glove box lock with no tumbler issues.
Has a master key, seen on the left in the first picture, that works all the locks except the ignition lock with ease has another key that works only the ignition lock with ease as well the ignition housing assembly will not fit the right hand drive W201 or the 1984 to 1989 Mercedes W201 190E. This door lock is on the left in the first picture.
I removed these awesome locks from a well cared for left hand drive 1993 Mercedes 190E. This section must be discarded so you can attach your car's transmission interlock cable. All of them. All the used parts you see here are genuine used Mercedes parts.
This lock set will fit the left hand drive 1990 to 1993 Mercedes W201 190E only. The key hole dust covers and doors on both door locks and the trunk lock have stood the test of time.
The master key seen on the left in the first picture fits all the locks, except the ignition lock, without issue. Or an ex has a set and won't give'em back. The steering column lock pin is fully operational.
The ignition lock barrel shows scuffs and scrapes on the black paint.
Mercedes W201 door locks suffer damage over the years due to lack of door latch lubrication. I have included a section of the transmission interlock cable attached to the ignition housing that may aid in your installation. I have determined that the previous owner changed out the original ignition lock tumbler leaving all other locks original to the Mercedes intact. The black plastic key hold of this key will need replacing, however.
Looking for a better than average reliable used Mercedes 190E lock set one that fits a 1990 to 1993 left hand drive 190E Mercedes I say better than average because of each lock's key insertion, rotation ease and key removal. The steering wheel lock feature extends instantly when the key is removed.
Your 190E was passed down to you from the family but the keys were lost some time ago. The buzzer connections work. This is a common practice I see when one lock, in this case the ignition lock tumbler, has an issue.
The key return springs on both door handle locks are intact and undamaged. All are fully functional.
